Network Specialist

Location: Clarksburg, WV

We are looking for an experienced, professional Network Specialist to join our team!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Individual will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and coordinating the use of the network system. Other duties include:

  •  Evaluating hardware, software and peripheral equipment
  •  Managing network performance to maintain high quality transmission service on the network
  •  Maintaining & creating/deleting user accounts, and maintaining and updating system security plans on all platforms
  •  Implementing and coordinating network policies, procedures and standards as well as enforcing security procedures
  •  Troubleshooting network performance issues and analyzing network traffic while providing capacity planning solutions
  •  Monitoring and responding to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems.
  •  Provides support for the purchasing, testing, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems.
  •  Providing assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations
  •  Interfacing with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  •  Providing routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals).
  •  Assisting in planning large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
  •  Providing input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints
  •  Performing a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment
  •  Providing quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.

REQUIREMENTS

  •  An active Top Secret Security Clearance
  •  Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  •  Bachelorís degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field preferred 
  •  Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks
  •  Ability to operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
  •  Prior experience providing the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals) 
  •  Experience with the utilization of software and hardware tools and the ability to identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance
  •  Strong communication skills (written, verbal)
  •  Ability to work in a team environment
  •  Analytical and problem solving expertise
