ISD Course Developer

Location: Montgomery, AL

We have looking for an experienced, professional ISD Course Developer to join our team! 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Individual will be responsible for expertly conducting all elements of the Air Force Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process, to include Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, as well as Instructor duties. Work may involve original work and/or integrating the work of several Instructional Design and/or Curriculum Development products. This involves taking Instructional Design products and conducting all essential development efforts that result in a complete Course that meets the time constraints developed in the Course Design Phase. Coursework includes all materials for student use, delivery materials, and assessment tools as well as materials to prepare faculty to deliver the coursework and/or prepare faculty to conduct train-the-trainer programs. Course developers will also develop a test program to gain initial feedback on the product’s effectiveness before fielding a finished product. Other duties include:

  •  Produce a complete SCORM compliant product for On-Line classes that can be delivered/hosted (via Disc, Web, and/or Cloud) to the customer and function on the users’ (student’s and faculty’s) devices (desktop (government and/or privately owned) as well as mobile (government and/or privately owned) devices.
  •  Format and load the required materials onto the appropriate AU Learning Management System (LMS) for AU products and must also successfully format and load the required materials onto the AFNC’s internal record-keeping program(s).
  •  Provide overall program management support to ensure that the requirements of this task order are accomplished; perform project management/process improvement activities, such as creating work breakdown structures/project plans and providing recommendations and implementation on the viability of new technologies to improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
  •  Provide overall program management support to ensure that the requirements of the contract are accomplished; meet regularly with the Client to provide a suspense and activity summary of the past period’s contractor efforts, discuss and coordinate timelines for deliverables for existing and upcoming tasks, and address any other pertinent issues regarding contract support and execution. The Client will evaluate the specific planned efforts and recommendations for each of the functional areas prior to the contractor beginning these efforts. In addition, the Client will direct through proper channels changes to the priorities, levels of effort, etc., within the scope of these requirements. Products to support that effort include a Quality Control Plan (QCP) (A001) and a Monthly Activity Report (MAR) (A002).  

REQUIREMENTS  

  •  PHD strongly desired
  •  Must possess at least three years successful experience in the direct development and delivery of post-secondary education/training materials using the AF ISD process.
  •  Must possess at least one of the following four:       

1.A Terminal degree in a discipline that addresses negotiation, mediation, conflict management, and/or alternative dispute resolution; or

2. A certificate of completion from a nationally recognized program (for example: Harvard Program on Negotiations, Wharton School, Stanford, Duke, Kennesaw State University) that addresses negotiation, mediation, conflict management, and/or alternative dispute resolution; or

3. Recognition by a nationally recognized program (for example: Harvard Program on Negotiations, Wharton School, Stanford, Duke, Kennesaw State University) for major accomplishments and/or contributions to the advancement of negotiation, mediation, conflict management, alternative dispute resolution (such as publication in a major journal, a lead role in teaching the application of above skills in an executive program, recognition for exceptional mediation skills, etc.); or

4. At least three years’ experience in an official capacity that required the routine and successful application of negotiation, mediation, conflict management, and/or alternative dispute resolution as a component of their duties (for example: military attaché duty, service in an international peacekeeping organization, senior-level service on a coalition staff, service at the U.S. Department of State in an international location, etc.).  

  •  Must possess knowledge and experience in areas below to successfully perform the requirements:
    • Learning theory, psychology of learning, negotiation, psychology of decision-making, and mediation/facilitation theory, and Instructional Systems Development
    • Instructional Systems Development practices, principles and techniques encompassing Instructor, Instructional Designer, Curriculum Developer, Course Developer and Instructor Training competencies
    • The application of skills in the development and delivery of web- and cloud-based interactive courses
    • Instructor facilitation
    • Applied research methods, investigations, and education programs
    • Multimedia methods of curriculum design, development, and delivery; i.e., embedded video instruction and other graphic intensive products 

The position is located at the Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL.
